About OABC

One Another Baptist Church is a new church planted in the 2nd fastest growing county in Tennessee and the 30th fastest growing county in the United States. Churches begin for all sorts of reasons. Ours began out of a burden to see people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and for them to grow in their new found relationship with the Lord. We desire to see our church grow and to be a blessing to all who call "One Another" their church home. We are more than just another church, we are a family!

We have a three fold purpose:

- PREACHING: Clear, precise, red hot Spirit-filled Bible preaching is an integral part of what we do at One Another Baptist Church.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

-TEACHING:  In our teaching hour/Sunday school we seek to study the Word of God

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

-REACHING:  God wants us to go after people, and tell them the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Mark 16:15-16 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Our mission statement is simple, but Biblical. Everything we do at OABC revolves around these three purposes.

Many churches today are very "inward focused" with little to no outreach into the community and to the people which live there. While they say that "everyone is welcome," when someone walks in who looks, talks, or acts differently than them, they are not always so "welcome." Everyone is welcome here at One Another. We all come from different walks of life. Some grew up in church, some did not. We are more concerned with your future than your past! We desire for One Another to be a place of hope, healing, and help! We are not in competition with any other church or ministry. We simply want to preach and teach the Bible, and reach people!

Our Pastor feels you can preach the Bible, stand on the truths and principles of God's Word, and still love people. Do not misunderstand, if the Bible says it is wrong we do not skip over these verses. If the Bible says it is right, we will boldly proclaim it. (Read more about what we believe by clicking here). However, Jesus said that we are to love "one another." It seems true, Biblical love is a missing element in many churches! We are to love, pray for, edify, encourage, lift up, and support "One Another"!

Come and join us at "One Another." We would love to have you as part of our family!

Guest Information and other FAQ

If you have a question that is not answered here, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Where are you located?

We are located near downtown Murfreesboro at 224 Bridge Avenue. We are actually at the corner of Bridge Ave. and Kings Hwy.  We are directly across from McFadden School. Our address is at the top right corner of this webpage, and if you click "contact us" there is a google map there.

What should I wear when I visit?

At One Another Baptist, you will see a variety of attire. Some dressy, some more casual. The most important thing is that YOU are there!

What kind of music is at your church?

We desire that our music first and foremost uplifts the name of the Lord. When choosing the music at One Another, we strive to select songs that are Biblically based, distinctively Christian, and that will edify and move the hearts of all who are present. There are no light shows or smoke machines; we are what most would call "traditional" or "conservative". By the way, this does not mean "dead" and "boring"! The music is very moving, points our focus to our Saviour, and prepares our heart for worship. We love to sing the great hymns of the faith such as "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross", and also songs like "He Set Me Free", "I'll Fly Away", and "Farther Along". We use both the Soul Stirring Songs and Hymns hymnal and the "Church Hymnal", which is often called the "Red Back" hymnal.

What Bible version do you use at One Another?

We use the King James Bibles for all of the preaching and teaching at OABC, for all classes and age groups.

Will I be embarrassed or pointed out when visiting?

No! We diligently try to not embarrass and point out people, especially guests. Pastor Jimmy has been to churches where the Pastor makes you stand and introduce yourself publicly; we will not do that at One Another! Do not be surprised though when you are very welcomed at our church! It will happen! We love guests!

Am I expected to take part in the offering?

No. As a visitor, you are welcome to give but are not expected or required to.

Do you have a Nursery available?

We certainly do. We have a video feed in the nursery so you can still see and hear the service. We also have volunteers that would be honored to watch your child while you attend the main service.

How can I know that I will go to Heaven when I die?

We are glad you asked! Read here to find out how you can know you are going to Heaven.

I do not have a Bible. Where can I get one?

All you have to do is ask. We will give you a Bible of your very own!

Can I find friends here?

You certainly can! God wants us to have friendships with others. After all, Jesus is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother! (Proverbs 18:24)

I am not perfect. I have done a lot of wrong in my life, and I do not feel that some would welcome me to church. Will it be okay if I come?

It certainly will. The Bible says "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). We are all from different backgrounds, but we have one thing in common: we are all human and we are all sinners! The only one who walked this earth and never sinned was Jesus. No matter where you come from, or where you are on the road of life, you are welcome here. We are ALL imperfect people!

I am struggling with some things in my life, and would like to meet with someone to talk. Does your church offer any counseling?

Please contact us today and we can set up a time to meet. We will try our best to be of any help to you that we possibly can. We do not have certified (graduate degree) counselors per se, but we do have people from many walks of life that would be honored to listen to you, cry with you, and pray with you.

Is One Another Baptist Church affiliated with an association or convention?

No. One Another Baptist is an independent, fundamental church with no ties to the Southern Baptist Convention or any other association or convention.

Why did you name your church, "One Another"?

When studying the New Testament, there are many instances of the phrase "One Another". Sadly, selfishness seems to abound within Christianity. We see throughout the life of Christ, He put others first. We are to love, pray for, editfy, and reach out to "One Another". More can be found about the significance of "One Another" here.
